The Gym Is the New Therapy — And That’s Okay
Share
For a long time, “therapy” was something that didn’t belong in our communities. It was seen as weak. Or expensive. Or “not for us.”
But here’s the truth:
Most of us are already in therapy — we just call it training.
🧠 Why the Gym Works Like Therapy:
- You show up for yourself — even when you don’t feel like it
- You process emotion through movement
- You prove to yourself you're still capable of growth
- You sweat out the stress
- You feel grounded after lifting, running, or just pushing through something hard
📣 Let’s Normalize It
Not everyone has access to traditional therapy. But that doesn’t mean we don’t deserve healing.
For us, the gym is the space to heal — physically, mentally, culturally.
So next time someone says “you live in the gym,”
Just nod and say:
“It’s cheaper than therapy.”
