Meet Luis Canseco – Creator of Fitgods Athletics

Fitgods Athletics was born from a vision that took over seven years to bring to life, officially launching in 2022. As a lifelong gym enthusiast, I struggled with self-doubt and the fear of judgment. I learned that confidence isn't always steady—even for those who live the fitness lifestyle.

While following the traditional path through college and building skills, I realized that a career alone couldn’t fulfill my deeper purpose. Everything changed during a mentorship program with youth. One of the kids asked, “What about your dreams?” That question lit a fire in me—and from that moment, Fitgods Athletics became more than just an idea. It became my mission.

I had no background in fashion or business, but I had a vision: to create a minimalist fitness apparel brand rooted in purpose, culture, and community. I dove into the world of design, performance fabrics, technology, and entrepreneurship—all to build gear that motivates people to push themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Fitgods Athletics is more than a fitness brand—it's a movement to empower individuals to become their best selves. Our name draws inspiration from the ancient Nahua civilizations—the Aztecs, Maya, Toltecs, and others—who believed in many gods representing strength, wisdom, and balance. From this legacy came the idea of becoming a “God of Fitness,” which evolved into Fitgods.

Our slogan, "In gratitude we thrive," reflects our belief that gratitude fuels greatness. By appreciating who we are and what we have, we unlock deeper strength and avoid taking our blessings for granted. We strive to show up with purpose—on the field, in the gym, and in our communities.
